Dr. Warren Retter has been actively involved in the advancement of dentistry since the beginning of his career thirty-nine years ago. He graduated from McGill University with a B.Sc and DDS and is a Fellow of the Academy of Dentistry International. He is also a founding member of the Canadian Academy for Aesthetic Dentistry.
Dr. Warren Retter has taught prosthetics to dental students and dental residents throughout his career, dedicating his time to advance the experience and knowledge of many students. He has a long association with McGill University, where Dr. Retter has taught from 1981 to present; Fixed Prosthodontics, Implantology, and Cosmetic Dentistry. Since 1997, he has been a lecturer and demonstrator at the Jewish General Hospital Residency Program.
A member of numerous dental societies, Dr. Retter maintains a busy private practice with emphasis on cosmetic and restorative dentistry. He is a past president of the Montreal chapter of Alpha Omega International, a renowned dental fraternity. Committed to supporting the community at large, he is a founding member of JIAS, a program which provides dental care to immigrants who are unable to receive proper treatment elsewhere.
Dr. Retter has lectured extensively on operative dentistry, prosthetics and CAD/CAM technology to students, residents and dentists alike. He has also been devoted to continuing education, and regularly attends seminars in all aspects of dentistry so his patients receive the best quality of care available.
Dr. Jason Retter wakes up every morning excited to go to the office. He loves dentistry and has spent the last decade building a successful general practice. Following his graduation from Mcgill Dentistry in 2006, Dr. Retter completed a comprehensive multidisciplinary residency program at the Jewish General Hospital in Montreal. One of the best residency program in Canada, The JGH provided him with the opportunity to gain in depth experience in many critical areas of dentistry such as surgery, cosmetics, and the treatment of medically compromised patients. Following residency, his quest for knowledge and clinical excellence led him to enrol and graduate as a fellow from the the Misch International Implant Institute in 2010. The MIII is the most comprehensive school teaching implant dentistry to GPs and specialists alike. He has also received a fellowship from the International Congress of Oral Implantologists.
As technology in dentistry evolves, Dr. Retter became very active in digital dentistry. He is at the forefront of CAD/CAM technology and one of the most knowledgeable providers in Canada. On any given day you will find him using computer technology to design and fabricate teeth and plan implant surgery, an advanced procedure that leads to more refined and accurate treatment. He has been an academy member of Cerecdoctors.com since 2009 and has completed the entire curriculum. Always thirsty for a better way to practice, Dr. Retter frequently travels to the leading dental teaching centers to advance his understanding. Spear Education in Scottsdale, Arizona is his favorite place to study and has extensively taken seminars and workshops to hone his technical skills and diagnostic abilities. Facially Generated Treatment Planning, Occlusion in Clinical Practice, Advanced Restorative Design, Treating the Worn Dentition and Demystifying Occlusion are just some of his favorite courses.
In 2013 Dr. Retter had the good fortune of spending a week in Heidelberg, Germany at the Steigmann Institute. Dr. Steigmann’s curriculum provided a lifetime of evidence-based experience and an understanding of soft tissue and aesthetics that is unparalleled. Dr. Retter is also a member of the Tesolin Implant Continuum. A local program where clinicians get to perform implant surgery in a teaching environment to share and learn from each other. Dr. Retter prides himself on learning from the best, wherever they are. He regularly seeks out and studies with world leaders in their given disciplines. He likes to refer to them as his Guru’s.
Giving back is also a passion he emanates. Dr. Retter spends more than a week per year teaching and providing dental care for free to those in need. In 2015 he became attending staff at the Jewish General Hospital Dental Department, his alma mater. There, he overseas a clinic of 6 residents and donates his time teaching. In 2017, in a collaboration with Ometz Agency, founded Retter Dental Cares. This initiative has been extremely well received and has provided over 50 hours of free dental care to members our community who are in need.
Dr. Retter is also an extremely proud family man, husband and father of three. When he isn’t working, studying or teaching he’s usually enjoying his family, biking, reading, cooking, skiing or doing yoga.
Dr Retter fundamentally believes that in order to provide patients with the best treatment possible, it requires constant and continuous advanced training. This is a commitment that Dr. Retter has pledged to maintain and fortunately has the passion and energy to do.
Dr. Retter’s mantra is simple. While crucial to our overall health, most people are not excited by needing dental treatment. Dr. Lindsey Jakubovic graduated from McGill University with a Bachelor of Science in Physiology in 2003. Following her undergraduate degree she continued her studies at McGill University and received a Doctorate of Dental Medicine in 2007. Continuing her passion for knowledge and excellence, she was accepted to the Comprehensive Multidisciplinary Dental Residency program at the Jewish General Hospital in Montreal. Once completed, Dr. Jakubovic began her career as a General Dentistry in private practice.
Dr. Jakubovic strongly believes in giving back and supporting her dental and greater communities. Outside of clinical practice, she immediately began teaching second year dental students operative dentistry at McGill University. Dr. Jakubovic continues to be very active in her profession. She is a member of the Alpha Omega Dental Fraternity and sat on the board of directors as Social Director for 3 years. In 2011, Dr. Jakubovic was also elected to the board of Directors of the ACDQ (Association des Chirurgiens Dentistes du Quebec), representing the Montreal Region. She is also a member of the Young Dentists Committee of the ACDQ. where she shares and advocates for ideas and philosophies brought forth by newer dentistry graduates. Being active in the ACDQ has provided her with a powerful platform for advancing the progress of her profession for dentists and patients alike.
Her passion for helping patient’s is unwavering, always doing her utmost to ensure exceptional treatment, care, and compassion for her patient’s. She tailors every treatment plan to each patients specific needs. She is thorough, detail oriented and sensitive in planning and executing the most up to date treatments. Dr. Jakubovic’s communication with patients and collaboration with professionals is exceptional and well-appreciated by her patients.
When Dr. Jakubovic is not busy working, you can find her spending quality time with her family. She enjoys keeping active at the gym, doing yoga, swimming and without a doubt, on the ski slopes.
Dr. Joanne C. Walford, D.D.S., graduated from the McGill Faculty of Dentistry, in 1981, preceded by an associateship with a well known prosthodontist, a multidisciplinary residency at the Jewish General Hospital, and a Bachelor of Science from McGill, 1977, in Microbiology and Immunology, and has had a successful private practice in Montreal for 35 years. Dr. Joanne Walford was also a part time clinical instructor at McGill, for 11 years, in the Department of Periodontics, and as well was a fellow of the AGD, the American Academy of General Dentistry, and is an active member of the CDA, ODQ, and ACDQ. With a never ending thirst for knowledge, and a serious commitment to self improvement through education, and the desire to make the oral health and the lives of her patients better, Dr. Walford continues to follow many courses in Canada and the USA (Cerec Doctors and Spear Education in Arizona, Harvard continuing education, studying digital dentistry and CAD CAM technology), and as well, has completed many online training courses. She is always advancing her technical skills and knowledge, in many domains of dentistry. Dr. Walford will provide exceptional, high quality care, in an environment of gentleness, kindness, understanding, and attentive listening to all her patients. Always active, Dr. Walford enjoys time with her family, and training in ballroom dance sport, and as well, has competed in 4 World Championships, as part of the Canadian team, in both Duathlon and Triathlon, and has enjoyed running marathons, swimming, cycling, and fitness training.
